February 8, 2025

2/8/2025 Hardin Unit 113 Juniors/Young SAL participated in the Legion’s Open House. They had a display of photos, their history book, and information on how to join. They also had a fundraiser consisting of a nice Patriotic pins for a donation. Many thanks to all who made the fundraiser a success. At the monthly Meeting we made birthday cards for the Veterans at RVC, created some Christmas cards using recycled Christmas cards and a variety of craft scissors donated by Kay Hensley. Thanks to Kay for her donation! We watched a video about Harriet Tubman and discussed her accomplishments, spoke of MLK and also of Rosa Parks. We got a start on painting rocks and enjoyed some homemade cookies. Juniors serving in honorary leadership roles received name badges donated by John Saunders. His donation of the badges is much appreciated! Isabella and Dawson received Certificates of Appreciation and a Patriotic pin from Post Commander Rich Gano for their participation in the city’s Veteran’s Day Ceremony. We welcomed four visitors from Willard American Legion Post 342 to our meeting. Richard and Carmelita Dallaire, along with Raymond and Dawn Barney traveled to our Unit to see what our Juniors program is all about. They are looking for ideas for their Juniors Program. Information and ideas were shared. We thanked our guests for attending.
