This year’s ALA Americanism Essay Contest theme is, “What does America the Beautiful mean to me (regarding veterans and our military)?”
America the Beautiful to me is our freedoms we exercise every day because of our veterans and military, honoring the beauty of our nation for their sacrifice and dedication. We have so many songs written about America the Beautiful. Our veterans have left a legacy of honor that continues to inspire future generations. America the Beautiful is a tribute to their legacy. It is a heartfelt homage to our veterans and military. Reminds us of their valor, a celebration of their service, and a pledge to uphold what they have protected. The Americanism Essay Contest topic was picked to see what our youth think about our country and through their eyes. Do they see the freedoms we exercise every day because of our veterans and military? Do they see the dedication of our veterans and military by protecting our liberties, ensuring we remain the land of the free? The Americanism Essay Contest is due to your divisional chair no later than April 15, 2025. Each department has its own due dates to the department chair. Check with your department for the deadline.
